Tony Boyle is a freelance consultant specialising in the research and development aspects of health and safety. He has extensive consultancy, lecturing and training experience in the UK and has also worked in Europe, Hong Kong and the USA.
He was the author of several computer programs for use in health, safety and environmental management and he has a Master’s degree in computer expert systems.
Current activities include the following:
- Delivering CPD courses on OH&S management topics at the IOSH Headquarters in Leicestershire. Topics covered include auditing to ISO 19011, monitoring and measuring, statistics and risk assessment.
- Writing OH&S management systems for organisations. The systems written are based on OHSAS 18001 and the documentation follows ISO/TR 10013 principles.
- Carrying our gap analyses for organisations to establish what they will have to do to be compliant with OHSAS 18001.
He has published textbooks and over 50 articles, papers and book chapters on health and safety matters and recent publications include the following.
